Creative Base Running

Fordham pinch hitter Brian Kownacki had quite an inning in Tuesday’s game against Iona. He led off the bottom of the 8th with his team trailing 9-1, promptly get plunked and the Fordham rally is on. Fordham ended up batting around, and with the score now tied, Kownacki comes up again and is hit with the very first pitch he sees. With the bases now loaded, the next batter hits a double to center to drive in the go ahead run. The runner from second scores to make it 11-9, and Kownacki, running from first, is waved around to try and add a little cushion to Fordham’s lead. The throw home is on time and on the money, and Kownacki comes to the plate with a tremendous….well, you gotta watch the video.
